We were out and about one weekend when the weather was fairly nice and overcast. While at one of the local nurseries, I noticed this trash can and it make me laugh.
I guess the raccoons in these parts know how to read because the message seemed to be very pointed towards them.
So Raccoons…don’t get into the trash! Please?

On behalf of raccoons in the area: we take offense at this type of treatment for several reasons:
1. Do not tell us what constitutes “food” or “trash” – one human’s trash is another raccoon’s food.
2. We know when you people work so don’t think a threatening sign is going to deter us. We are good at being sneaky and stealth (we wear masks after all!)
3. We have hands and know how to open lids.
On the positive side, thanks for pointing out where you are keeping the food! 🙂
PS – The sign maker needs to learn how to spell “raccoon”.
